Program
Sound Transit Link Extension
Program Risk Analysis
The Sound Transit Link System Extension program consists of four separate Link Extension projects, totaling 34 miles that extend the Link rail service to the cities of Lynnwood, Redmond, Bellevue, Federal Way. The program also includes the light rail fleet expansion project involving the manufacturing of new light rail vehicles and retrofitting of existing vehicles.
Aquanti was appointed to conduct independent risk assessments of the program. A series of risk workshops was facilitated by Aquanti. Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) was then conducted to determine the range of potential completion dates and costs for each project. In addition, a QRA of the resource requirements was also conducted to determine potential impacts to the completion dates. The risk analysis process was performed in accordance with the Federal Transit Administration’s FTA OP-40 risk process.
